PURPOSE
The Green Lake Association, serving the area surrounding Green Lake in Maine, was formed for charitable, educational and scientific purposes and was incorporated as a non-profit in 2007. It's objective is to advance and protect Green Lake as a valuable and natural resource. The association undertakes educational and informational activities that promote best practices for lake property owners and recreational users of the lake.
THE GREEN LAKE HISTORY VOL. II is available . To obtain one, with more pictures, more stories, and more history as told by Green Lake residents, email renrufflady@gmail.com. The price is $20.00 per book, plus $3.00 shipping and handling per book.

HAZARD MARKERS ON GREEN LAKE
On September 21 and 22, 2011, the Maine Department of Conservation, (DOC), installed approximately sixty-four buoys on Green lake to mark various hazards, shallow areas, reduced speed zones and channels. The Board of Directors met twice with the DOC for an extensive discussion of the Navigational Aids Program, lake topography and buoy needs. The Board reviewed DOC's draft maps carefully and the DOC made changes according to suggestions and concerns expressed by Board members. You may obtain more information about the buoy program at the DOC website www.maine.gov/doc/parks/programs/boating/navaids.htm . Questions or concerns about the buoys should be directed to Timothy Thurston, Navigational aids Program supervisor at the DOC by calling (207) 582-5771.
